Universities across Africa are establishing Embedded Systems & Artificial Intelligence Laboratories aiming to foster hardware innovation, according to Tekedia. These labs will focus on intelligent machines, robotics, and AI integration into physical devices like autonomous vehicles and smart factories.

Montreal is solidifying its position as an AI hub, attracting top students with its booming tech sector and McGill University's ties to renowned institutes like Mila, reports the McGill Reporter. Undergraduate students are gaining access to hands-on experience and valuable internships.

In other news, Conduent Incorporated (Nasdaq: CNDT) appointed Greta Van to its Board of Directors, adding her two decades of experience in finance and risk management, according to a press release. Van currently serves as Chief Audit Executive at Jack Henry & Associates.

Amazon is reportedly moving to quell rumors about building a data center at the former Earthlink site in Pasadena, according to local reports. The tech company acquired the Bradley Street building but officials stated on Friday that it would not be used as a data center.
