Meta is now the only major US AI developer without a voluntary agreement to submit new models to the Trump administration for security review, according to Complete Ai Training, which cited New York Times reporting that officials are pressing the company to join OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, and Microsoft in giving the Commerce Department's Center for AI Standards and Innovation advance access. The arrangement stems from a June 2 executive order that gives federal officials as many as 30 days to assess models ahead of release, and Meta spokesperson Francis Brennan said the company hopes to sign the agreement soon.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has joined RAISE US, a new nonpartisan workforce initiative launched June 25 by former Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and former US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, who will serve as its CEO, per Katv. The organization debuts with more than two dozen American companies and philanthropies and initial state partnerships in Connecticut, Maryland, and Utah, and will design and pilot incentives to retrain workers for an AI economy.

In defense, Safran.AI and Hemeria signed a memorandum of understanding to build an AI-powered electromagnetic intelligence and electronic warfare payload for stratospheric balloons operating roughly 20 to 40 kilometers up, an effort announced around Eurosatory 2026 and aimed at closing NATO's gap in updating electronic order of battle libraries, according to Techtimes.

VeriSIM Life entered a Material Transfer Agreement with the FDA's National Center for Toxicological Research, formalizing collaboration around its BIOiSIM hybrid mechanistic-AI drug development platform, which builds on a 2025 co-authored publication on predicting drug-induced liver injury, per Financialcontent.

In India, IIT-Kanpur's Airawat Research Foundation is building an AI-based Decision Support System to sharpen Delhi's air quality forecasts, replacing a fixed daily model with one that continuously learns from live pollution data, The Indian Express reported.

And on adoption, Naijaonpoint.com.ng highlighted survey data showing 92 percent of university students now use AI in some form, up from 66 percent in 2024, per a HEPI and Kortext study, while Chegg's global survey found roughly 80 percent of undergraduates worldwide have used generative AI to support their studies.
