The UK's Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is integrating AI to route calls and detect fraud in its welfare system, aiming to cut wait times and save billions, according to a government press release. Critics, however, highlight potential risks of bias and errors disproportionately affecting vulnerable claimants, making ethical AI crucial.

The Oregon Tech Board of Trustees approved the launch of a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence degree, with the first cohort anticipated in Fall 2026, according to the university's announcement. This aims to address growing workforce and industry needs in the AI sector.

President Marcos encouraged students to use AI as a tool but emphasized that it should not replace their drive, creativity, and grit to learn about the world, reports the Philippine News Agency. He stressed that AI should support thinking and learning, not replace the essential human elements of education.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that AI-based language models are needed for languages like Marathi and Konkani to effectively use them in education, research, administration, and industry, according to The Navhind Times. This includes developing translation techniques, voice recognition technology, and digital material for these languages.

In today's digital landscape where every organization is vulnerable, AI-powered cyber defense is no longer optional for modern businesses, emphasizing the critical need for advanced security measures and real-time threat detection, according to Forbes. Large businesses and governments aren’t the only ones threatened by cyber attacks; all organizations are equally at risk.

Credentialism is being challenged in the age of chatbots, where the 20th century saw more foundational technological, social, and political progress than the emphasis on information technology in the twenty-first century, according to Global Policy Journal.
