Common Sense Media Rates Google AI Search 'Unacceptable' for Kids as HERE Ships No-Code Studio

Google's AI Overview and AI Mode pose an "unacceptable" risk to kids, the worst rating on its five-point scale, according to a Common Sense Media report covered by KUTV. Across more than 2,600 test searches using accounts configured to mimic kids ages 11 and 15, the youth advocacy group found the tools failed to reliably detect signs of kids in crisis, completed homework every time across 180 tested academic assignments, and regularly produced answers deemed unreliable, while Google's standalone Gemini chatbot scored a somewhat better "high" risk in earlier assessments. Google disputed the findings, saying it could not reproduce many of the responses and that the report "tests a narrow set of ambiguous and contrived queries," while Common Sense Media's main ask is that Google give parents and schools an easy way to block the AI features in Search.

In the enterprise, HERE launched Studio, an app creation environment that lets non-technical employees in regulated industries build work applications using natural language inside the HERE Enterprise Browser, according to IT Brief India. The tool works with approved AI systems including Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini, restricts apps to organization-owned data and security protocols, and targets banking, healthcare, public sector, and defense customers; the company says 90 percent of global financial institutions use its enterprise browser, and Studio entered preview on July 16, 2026.
